Youth Outdoor Day

Yesterday the boys and I attended our first Oregon Youth Outdoor Day and it was so fun for us. It has been going on for 8 years now here and sells out every year. Luckily we registered early and for the bargain price of $5 each we got to attend. Unfortunately Daddy had to work due to a paving deadline he had to meet, but we went on ahead and took lots of pictures for him. It was very well organized for such a large group of people and God brought out the sunshine just for us. Honestly it was the only nice day in so long and we were so blessed with warm temperatures!

Our first stop was fishing, and the boys were so excited. I actually got to teach them to cast! I know I learned when I was little, probably from my stepdad Joe; but I never thought it would come in handy. Well, they got the hang of it right away even surprising the volunteers that were helping out. So, here are a few video clips showing off their stuff.....

They also enjoyed many hands on activities such as fish printing, laser shooting, and even building a birdhouse. Brody was happy when we found a booth on wild sheep. It was interesting to learn some of how they are working to increase the population. He got to hold a real horn and learned how the rings show how old they are!

All in all it was a great day and we hope to make it again next year!

So weird...Jon and the kids were there ALL day and they said they never saw you once! Odd...although I did hear it was busy. Glad everyone had fun :-)
